In Memory of Carolyn Jones

We lost a dear member a few months ago. She was a long term member of our club and much loved and well known around here.

And if you knew Carolyn, then you know she loved Disney. Her and her family would visit Disneyland at least once, if not several times a year. She wore Disney sweatshirts and had memorabilia throughout her home. She had a fun spirit and enjoyed the simple things in life.

During Christmas one of our churches offered memorial trees when you could place ornaments in memory of your loved one. Here are a few of the ornaments that a group of us place in her memory.

Always in our hearts, Carolyn!

Christmas Party to Support The Tranquility Village

As a Soroptimist, there are several projects that we support in the community. We hold fundraisers throughout the year to help fund and support some wonderful programs in the Atwater area. With the main focus being women and girls, one of the programs that we support is the Tranquility Village located in the Atwater area.

Christmas Party to Support The Tranquility Village - Soroptimist of Atwater

The Rose Julia Riordan Tranquility Village offers recovery home services to women 18 years and older in a supportive and safe home-like environment. We love getting together with the women and offering support several times a year.

Each Christmas we throw a party for the women and this year was a fun time for the ladies and the kids. With plenty of good food, caroling, and gifts to go around, everyone enjoyed the festivities.

We love to spoil the women whenever we can. I think they like it too!

If you want to help us, come join us at a meeting and find out more about Soroptimist activities. We would love to see you at a meeting!
